LIBRARY SET UP (GROUND FLOOR) : Before you enter the main gate of the library, there are two notice boards on the wall outside the library, where important notices pertaining to the library matters such as membership. Library timings, overdue books and library clearance etc. are put up from time to time for the information of users. The users, in their own interest, are expected to read those notices regularly.
The right of admission to the library is reserved to the bonafide students, teachers and other staff of the college. The entry to the library is against the Identity Card to be shown at the entrance. A serious view is taken of unauthorized entrance. It is obligatory on the pan of the all library users to allow checking at the Exit, while leaving the library. Property Counter : When you enter the library, there is a property counter on your right side, where you are expected to leave your bags or briefcases etc. for as long as you are inside the library. Money or other costly items should not be left in the bags etc. The library does not accept any responsibility for loss of any valuables left at the property counter. Information Desk : On your left hand side there is Information Desk. The staff member incharge of the Desk will be glad to answer your queries regarding the library. New members are enrolled, membership is renewed and reference service is provided in this section. Membership forms and other proformas needed for various purposes in the library are available in this section. Main Circulation Counter Issue and return work of books relating to students belonging to all classes and members of staff is done in this section. A Demand Slip Box is kept on the issue counter lo get any book 'reserved' which is under issue or is not available on die shelves. Students as well as staff members may fill the demand slip. 'Reserved' hooks are withheld at this counter for issue to needy users. Librarian's Office : A member who needs assistance or is desirous of giving some .suggestion regarding the library services can meet the Librarian in his office. Processing Section : Just in front of Librarian's office, is the Processing Section. Here all newly acquired books are accessioned, processed and prepared for issue. Reference Section : In front of the information Desk and adjacent of the Librarian's office is the Reference Section of the- Library. It contains a rich collection of Encyclopedias. Dictionaries, Directories, Guides, Year Books. Reports and other multi-volume publications. This section can rightly be called a treasure house of knowledge. The reference books are available for consultation in the library itself and are not ordinarily available for loan so that these books should always be readily available to all users. Library Catalogues : Just adjacent to the Reference Section, various library catalogue cabinets arc kepi. They contain detailed information of the entire holdings of the library. The catalogue cards arc arranged according lo authors, subjects and titles. Reading Room : There is a spacious Reading Room where users can read various daily newspapers, learned journals and magazines available in the library. Along the walls of the Reading Room, are periodical display racks where the latest newspapers, weeklies, fortnightlies and monthlies are displayed. There is a New Arrivals Display Rack. Selected books added to the library is displayed here before they are released for loan. Stack Halls : (a) Stack Hall-1 : This Stack Hall is situated on the ground floor. The books pertaining to the following subjects are shelved in this stack hall.
